About the Author - Laura Major

Stories have been a part of Laura's life from an early age. Listening to books on record from the Fords Library in the late 70's before she could read herself, Laura learned the impact of words and language. Book mobiles in New Jersey elementary schools continued to feed a thirst for reading and writing. Growing up, Laura managed her creative impulses by drawing, writing songs, poems and short stories.

A simple interest in how words come together to make rhyming poems and entertaining stories, resulted in participation in high school yearbook, catalog copywriting in college and earning of a degree in English from Arizona State University.

A love of learning, reading and writing gives a great foundation to Laura's pursuit in freelance and novel writing. With a background in financial printing and online higher education, Laura sought broad business and Internet freelance work full-time, after the publication of Mismatched, a multicultural romance novel.

Multiculturalism and the stories that showcase the value of culture that make each of us unique is a motivation for much of Laura's writing. Just as important is Laura’s nonfiction platform. With a strong interest in how current events impact the multicultural community and women of color in particular, Laura hopes to shed light not only on the issues that affect them but on their many contributions to literature, media and history. The result is Sable Lit Reviews, an outlet for this exploration as well as a place where the multicultural literature in every genre can get the attention it deserves.

Laura still lives in Arizona where she balances her writing interests in multicultural literature reviews, multicultural fiction and social interests.
